[Zadkiel the Seer was the peudoname of Captain Richard James Morrison of the Royal Navy [1795-1874] who was known by his 'intimates' as a Hebrew Scolar. In 1874 his obituary noted he was 80 and had devoted neary 50 years to 'the peudo-science of astrology'. His most successful publication was known as 'Zadkiel's Almanack' and sold annually with with an imprint of 100,000-200,000 copies, at sixpence each [!!]] In 1863 a court declared him not an imbecile and an imposter in a famous libel case involving Admiral Sir Edward Belcher. Morrison was awarded 20 shillings but no costs. ALL CONTENTS SCARCE.
