1st Pirated Dubin edition pre-dating the 4 vol. London 1st edition, 3 vols: ii,536;496;399, [1780,1781,1781] title-pages engraved by Bartolozzi. Vol. 1 has no address for Wm. Wilson but otherwise all three vol. have the same engraving, octavo, full polished calf, spine in compartments with gilt tooling. red morocco label, gilt lettering, green morocco numbering labels with floral dec. in gilt, joints and spine splitting, corners rubbed, generally a very attractive set in tight condition. Heraldic bookplate of Whitcombe. An interesting and attracive set. Only one bookseller is listed as the publisher. Normally this set has over ten booksellers. It includes 'A Long Story' and 'Ode for Music' by Gray. The preface 'Advertisement' is dated March 15 1779.
