A numbered key, in French, to the lower margin of places of interest in the city [1-19]. A dark impression printed on heavy paper with a strong plate mark and clear chain lines but no watermarks.

Each map 39 x 25 inches cloth backed and disected into 9 sections folding down Attractive inset plan of London, "Main Roads out of London", and a distance table. Copyright K2474. The Ministry of Transport is mentioned in the 'explanation' in the title and this was formed after the first world war in 1919. No split but a little grubby to the reverse. The plain maroon cloth case is worn and split to the spine. A large and attractive pair of folding maps

ND c1912. Very large folding map with two halves each folded into nine sections laid on linen. Burgany boards, gilt [mottled edges]. Full colour printing with an un-usual binding arrangement in that the northern and southern plates unfold around the boards to make a very large single map 125 x 96 cms. Scale 1:950 000. With statistical tables and diagrams to the borders. Some foxing to the rear of the folds but a nice item. This chart was later published by Richardsons of Manchester.[1916]

Dedication to 'The Right Honorable Philip, Earl of Hardwicke, Lord Lieutenant and Custos Rotorum of the County of Cambridge. B.L. 004813374, One inch to one mile. The first large large scale survey and map of the county of Cambridge, one of the last to be surveyed in England. This map was funded by public subscription. Hand -coloured and comprising 4 sheets joined and mounted on two wooden rolls to display [lacking one roll].

Jonathan Binns Surveyor, Lancaster 1825 1st and only ediiton Slipcase. Fine 
Folding town plan of Lancaster with views. 38x30 inches [950 x780 cms.] Scale 1:2400. Original fine green calf slip-case holds the plan. Heavily gilt decorated on all sides. A trifle rubbed. The title on the slip-case spine reads 'PLAN OF LANCASTER'. The dedication on the plan reads: 'Is by Permission Respectfully Dedicated to Our Most Gracious Sovereign King George IV Duke of Lancaster.'. In 1825 Binns published this map of Lancaster made from his own survey. A large map engraved by W.R. Gradner, Oxford Street, London and dissected into 24 and laid on linen. Green cloth edge finely sewn to the edge of the map to protect it.. Vignettes of The Gateway Tower, Lancaster form the North-East and Speed's town plan of 1610 inset. A RARE ITEM IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. PLEASE EMAIL FOR PHOTOS.
